MBCUK Leadership Courses
Our MBCUK courses combine leadership and coaching into one qualification, allowing you to lead groups and deliver skills sessions in accordance with your knowledge and experience. It’s a practical alternative for riders looking to lead groups responsibly.
Technical Trail Leader (TTL)
The TTL award is a level 2 qualification that allows you to coach basic mountain bike skills, lead groups of up to 6 people in difficult terrain, and navigate in familiar territory. It’s split into a 2 day training weekend, and a separate 1 day assessment. We normally recommend that candidates leave a few months between training and assessment so that you can take feedback from your training weekend action plan and return for your assessment prepared and confident.
Mountain Bike Coach (MBC)
The MBC award is a level 3 qualification aimed at experienced leaders looking to develop their skills as a communicator, leader and coach. It covers in-depth skills coaching, layering technique, advanced leadership, and navigating in unfamiliar terrain. It’s split into a 3 day training course containing additional written modules, and a separate 2 day assessment. We normally recommend that candidates leave a few months between training and assessment so that you can take the feedback from your training course action plan and return for your assessment prepared and confident.
